PRESS RELEASE
 July 26, 2024

CCWG contracted Salopek & Associates, an HR company with offices across Canada, to conduct a hiring search for suitable candidates from coast to coast.  After an exhaustive search, Salopek & Associates guided the CCWG hiring committee through a strong hiring process.

The CCWG Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection and hiring of Mr. Morgan Moore to the position of General Manager.  Moore will relinquish his position as Director on the CCWG Board of Directors to accept the role of General Manager.  Mr. Allan Ribbink will accept the role of President as per CCWG By-Laws.

Morgan Moore’s lifetime involvement in the Canadian sheep industry is well-documented, beginning first as a producer and an accomplished sheep shearer working in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.  Moore is a graduate of the University of Guelph, holding a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Degree and a Professional Agrologist designation through the Manitoba Institute of Agrologists.  He has spent the last decade serving on the executives of various provincial and national sheep and agricultural boards; most notably his time served as President of the CCWG Board from 2021 until now.

“The CCWG has dealt with many pressures in the last number of years.  Economic instability, pandemic related supply chain disruption, sheep industry political forces and more. Yet, we as a cooperative, have continued to grow our retail divisions, Livestock Supplies & the Real Wool Shop, grow our wool processing capacity and grow our value proposition to shareholders.  I look forward to leading this company to realize its full growth potential and to improving the wool marketing conditions for sheep farmers across this great country” Morgan Moore, CCWG General Manager.

“I thoroughly appreciate having had the opportunity of working alongside Morgan these past several years in our capacity as Directors of CCWG. Morgan has shown himself to be a leader with a strong business acumen and a heart for the sheep industry.  Morgan’s integrity combined with his open mindedness creates a level of trust and possibility that is rare and exciting to be part of in a board situation. On behalf of the board of directors, we look forward to working with Morgan and building growth and innovation for the Canadian Cooperative Wool Growers, ensuring that the company remains a viable player in the Canadian agriculture sector.” Arlette Seib, CCWG Vice President.
