CCWG Purchase Policy

The following methods of wool purchase are available from CCWG.
Final Payment
Advance payments on wool are not being processed until further noticeProducers are paid a on dry wool delivered to any of our wool depots as a final payment after grading, based on the grading results and wool market conditions. The advance payment is predetermined for Domestic and Range wool types and fluctuates based on wool market conditions and our forward sales. Producers are paid on the basis of 3 classifications for yield on main grades and receive an additional rebate for high yielding and well prepared clips.
Outright Purchase
This option is an outright cash purchase available to producers of well prepared and uniform wool clips where the quality, preparation, wool type, yield and staple length has been determined and inspected by CCWG staff. Based on the above criteria and prevailing wool market conditions an Outright Purchase is calculated for the producer with no final payment after grading. Previous years wool grading results are also taken into consideration.
Forward Contract
Same criteria as the Outright Purchase option but a contract is made between CCWG and the vendor that locks in the price for the future delivery of a producers wool clip.
All wool collected and graded by CCWG is placed into similar types, then objectively measured for yield, micron, vegetable matter percentage etc.
This core test certificate is then used as a marketing tool to effectively describe the wools available for sale to prospective wool buyers.
